Poplar Bluff man facing felony drug charges

POPLAR BLUFF MAN ARRESTED ON FELONY MARIJUANA CHARGES  

A Poplar Bluff man is facing a felony drug charges in connection to his arrest on Wednesday

Captain J.R. Keirsey with the Poplar Bluff Police Department says, Officers with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Butler County Sheriff Department, SEMO Drug Task Force, and the Missouri Highway Patrol was serving a Grand Jury Indictment to a residence on Kaylee Circle in Poplar Bluff.

Upon contact with 36 year old Stanley Preston Jones of Poplar Bluff at the residence, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana omitting from within the residence. While speaking with officers, Jones admitted to recently smoking marijuana and granted consent to search his residence. During the consensual search, officers located a felony amount of marijuana and marijuana along with numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

Jones was arrested and booked on the charges of felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jones was released to his attorney, pending lab analysis and review per prosecuting attorney.
