RIVER RADIO LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE IS TONIGHT
Christmas lights will be shining bright tonight in Downtown Poplar Bluff.
The 2024 River Radio Lighted Christmas Parade is scheduled to begin at 6 pm with line up starting at 4:30 pm at the Sky High Fun Zone parking lot.
The parade route this year will run from Highway 53 at McDonalds, north along Ditch Road into Downtown Poplar Bluff, then east on Vine Street, before circling back on Main Street.
Right before the parade, the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree will be held in front of the Black River Coliseum.

POPLAR BLUFF MAN CHARGED WITH SODOMY AND ASSAULT IN CONNECTION TO INCIDENT AT AREA HOTEL
A Poplar Bluff man is facing multiple charges following a reported sexual assault at an area hotel.
According to Lieutenant Josh Stewart with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, the incident occurred on November 30th, and the suspect, 30 year old Austin Davis, of Poplar Bluff, was taken into custody a few days later.
Davis has been charged with sodomy or attempted sodomy - 1st degree, kidnapping - 1st degree, and assault 3rd degree.
Davis is being held in the Butler County Justice Center on no bond. He had his initial appearance in a Butler County Courtroom Thursday morning.
THREE RIVERS COLLEGE MUSIC DEPARTMENT TO HOST CHOIR CONCERT THIS WEEKEND
The Three Rivers College Music Department will be hosting a choir concert this weekend.
The event has been scheduled for 3 pm on Sunday, December 8th, at the First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff.

DEADLINE IS TODAY TO PURCHASE TAGS FOR BULKY ITEM PICKUP
Today is the final day for Poplar Bluff residents to purchase tags for this month’s Bulky Item Pickup.
Residents can purchase bulk item tags from the City Collector’s office at City Hall for $20. The tags entitle you to the removal of four bulk items, such as couches or refrigerators. Tires may be collected for a charge of $3 per tire with a limit of four tires.
No construction materials or small items will be picked up and the program is for residential areas only.
Today is the final day to purchase item tags at City Hall to be included in next week’s pick up, which will be conducted on Tuesday, December, 10th.
KENNETT SMALL TOWN CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL SET TO BEGIN ON SATURDAY
A holiday tradition will return to Kennett this year with the Just a Small Town Christmas festival.
The festival will be held from December 7th through the 10th and include multiple events, such as the Adelphian Club Bazaar on December 7th, tree decorating and pageants on December 8th, and the tree lighting ceremony on December 10th.

CORNING VFW TO HOST PANCAKE BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
The Corning VFW 8347 will be hosting a pancake breakfast with Santa this weekend.
The event is scheduled for 7:30 to 11:30 A.M. on Saturday at the Corning Community Center.
Tickets are $7 and the breakfast will include pancakes, bacon, sausage, juice and coffee.
