HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN SCOTT COUNTY
Authorities in Scott County say one person is in custody in connection to a homicide investigation.
According to authorities, a man’s body was discovered Tuesday in the Mississippi River in Dorena. A suspect has been taken into custody and authorities are still searching for a missing woman in connection to the investigation.
Additional details about the incident were not released.
TODD RICHARDSON HONORS POPLAR BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR
Missouri House of Representatives Speaker Todd Richardson was at the Poplar Bluff High School last week to recognize a local student.
Richardson read a House proclamation that honored Senior student Grace Hudson for advocating for victims of sexual assault and giving a “voice to this critical societal problem.”
Hudson established Students Against Sexual Assault to raise awareness and protect teens from sexual assault, and domestic and dating violence.
The club has participation from around 70 members.
THREE RIVERS COLLEGE TO HOST FREE TRACTOR OPERATION AND GUIDANCE CLASS
Anyone wanting to learn how to operate a tractor will have the opportunity with a free class at Three Rivers College in New Madrid.
The Continuing Education department at Three Rivers College will hold Tractor Operation and Guidance classes from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturdays, from November 28th through December 12th.
The college says that the class will offer knowledge of tractor operations and guidance needed in agriculture. For more information, contact Amber Spears at 573-840-9619.
FLOODING CLOSES ROADS IN RIPLEY AND WAYNE COUNTY
Multiple roads have been closed due to flooding caused by the rainfall Southeast Missouri has received over the last few days.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, sections of Routes K and NN in Ripley County were closed last night because of flooding.
Officials also closed sections of Routes C, E, and F in Wayne County due to water being over the roadway.

POPLAR BLUFF STUDENTS DONATE DIAPERS AND BABY WIPES TO CHILD CONCERN CENTER
The Poplar Bluff Middle School Junior Beta Club recently held a diaper drive for the Child Concern Center of Poplar Bluff.
The club collected diapers and baby wipes over a two week period and donated them, along with cash, to the nonprofit, which provides low-income families clothing, diapers, food, utilities and other emergency items.
This is the second year that the Junior Beta Club has held a diaper drive.
EIGHT MULES FOOTBALL PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL REGION TEAM
Eight Poplar Bluff Mules football players have been named to the All-Region teams.
Quarterback Tristen Francisco, Defensive Lineman Jacob Dunlap,
Linebacker Steven Haley, and Defensive Back Denzel Britton were all named to the 1st team all-region.
Francisco and Haley were also respectively named offensive and defensive MVPs for the region.
Wide Receivers Ross Rushin and Jerrid Moore, Defensive Lineman Andrew Miller, and Center Zack Thomas were chosen for 2nd team all-region.
