ELLSINORE MAN KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECKAn Ellsinore man has died following a single vehicle wreck Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 20 year old Brett Rinehart was ejected from his vehicle after it ran off of Route V in Carter County and overturned.
Rinehart, who was not wearing a safety device, was pronounced dead at the scene.
POPLAR BLUFF MAN FACING FELONY METH CHARGE A Poplar Bluff man is facing a felony meth charge following his arrest on Wednesday.
According to the Highway Patrol, 38 year old Cortez Jones was arrested on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Jones is also facing charges of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana.
DEXTER TEEN ARRESTED ON STATUTORY SODOMY WARRANT A Dexter teenager has been taken into custody on a sodomy warrant.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 18 year old Christopher Ammons was recently arrested on a warrant for 2nd degree statutory sodomy.
Ammons bond was set at $25,000 and he remained in jail as of this morning.
POPLAR BLUFF BOARD OF EDUCATION TO MEET THIS EVENING The Poplar Bluff R-1 Board of Education will be meeting for a regular session this evening.
Some items on the tentative agenda include the booster club annual report and a discussion on the 2016-2017 meal prices and food service guidelines and regulations.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 pm in the Board of Education room at 1110 North Westwood Boulevard.

Heat index values are expected to peak at around 105 degrees.

WAYNE COUNTY WOMAN ARRESTED ON POSSESSION OF METH CHARGE Authorities have arrested a Wayne County woman on a methamphetamine charge.
According to authorities, 31 year old Ashley Skaggs is facing a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Other charges include possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
PAVEMENT REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN RIPLEY COUNTY Route C in Ripley County will be reduced to one lane today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform a pavement overlay.
The section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route 160 to the Carter County line.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
TRACK STAR AND TENNIS TEAM NAMED POPLAR BLUFF ATHLETES OF THE MONTH A track star and the Poplar Bluff Mules boys tennis team have been named the Poplar Bluff High School Athletes of the month for May by the Mules Booster Club.
Incoming junior Kaylee Eakin is an All State athlete for the past two years, was named 2016 conference champion, and made the state champion team in 2015. Kaylee holds school records in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays, and the 800-meter run. In the classroom, she maintains a 10.5 GPA.
The Mules tennis team finished the season with a 13 and 3 record and won districts. Individually, Peyton Bradley and Eduardo Martinez took first in doubles, with Gregg Roberson and Ben Stewart being named runners up. Humza Siddiqui took runner up in singles.
The team also took first place at the Poplar Bluff and Farmington Invitationals.
