MOTORISTS REMINDED TO BE SAFE DURING THE HALLOWEEN HOLIDAY WEEKEND The Halloween Holiday weekend is upon us and officials with the Dexter Police Department is reminding motorists to be on the lookout for any children who will be participating in the facilities.

Whether it’s this weekend or on Monday, slow down and be especially alert in residential neighborhoods. Children are excited for the holiday and may move in unpredictable ways, take extra time to look for kids at intersections, on medians and on curbs.

For Monday, anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic and turn your headlights on earlier in the day to spot children from greater distances. Popular trick-or-treating hours are 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm so be especially alert for kids during those hours.

Coming up on Monday we will have tips for parents to give to their children who will be out Trick or Treating.
