HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS FROM THE POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENTHalloween is here and Poplar Bluff Police Chief Danny Whiteley has some tips to help keep your child safe while trick or treating tonight.
Chief Whiteley says parents should establish a route for children, making sure they stay within familiar areas and surroundings. An adult should accompany young children. Parents should also remind kids not to enter strangers' homes or cars, and to avoid homes without an outside light on.
Be sure to tell your children to not eat treats until they get home and remember to inspect all treats before allowing your kids to eat them.
5TH ANNUAL HALLOWEEN SPPOKTACULAR TO BE HELD TONIGHT IN DOWNTOWN DONIPHAN Doniphan will be the host of a Halloween event tonight beginning at 6 pm.
The 5th Annual Haunted Downtown Doniphan Halloween Spooktacular will be held tonight from 6 to 8 pm. There will be a trunk or Treat from His Place Church with numerous businesses giving out candy.

TRIVIA NIGHT TO BE HELD TO SUPPORT NEW TWIN RIVERS PRACTICE FACILITY A Trivia Night fundraiser has been scheduled for this weekend to help support a new indoor practice facility being built for the Twin Rivers Baseball and Softball teams.
Jared Stockton tells us that the new facility should be completed in a week or two and the softball and baseball teams are responsible for finishing out the inside of it with equipment such as netting and turf.
The Trivia Night will be held at 6 pm this Saturday, at the Twin Rivers High School Gymnasium. The cost is $20 per person with five to eight people per team.
In addition to the trivia there will also be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction.
DEXTER WOMAN INJURIES DURING WRECK IN WAYNE COUNTY A Dexter woman was injured following a single vehicle wreck Friday evening in Wayne County.
According to the Highway Patrol, the wreck happened around 7:45 pm Friday, when 32 year old Amanda Cochran, ran off of Route W, struck a MODOT sign, and an embankment.
Cochran suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a Poplar Bluff Hospital.
8TH ANNUAL HOWLING AT THE MOON SCHEUDLED FOR FRIDAY NIGHT The Animal Welfare Alliance of Southeast Missouri is preparing for the upcoming fall benefit on Friday.
“Howling at the Moon,” the 8th annual fall benefit for the AWA is scheduled for 6 to 10 pm Friday night at the Westwood Center in Poplar Bluff.
Tickets will be available at the door with proceeds going towards building a no-kill animal shelter. There will be dinner, beverages, and a silent auction at the event. Live Entertainment will be provided by “Thin Blue Line.”

POPLAR BLUFF WORSHIP CENTER TO HOST FALL FESTIVAL TONIGHT Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center has announced they will be hosting a fall festival from 5:30 to 7:30 pm tonight.
Church officials say there will be candy booths, a bounce house, food, and giveaways at the free community event.
The Worship Center is located at 200 Walnut Street in Poplar Bluff.

FIRE DEPARTMENT TO HOST CHILI SUPPER AND AUCTION The Highway K Volunteer Fire Department in the Doniphan area has announced they will be hosting a Chili Supper and Auction on November 5th.
The supper will begin at 6 pm and will include a drink and dessert along with all you can eat chili or soup. Entry will cost $5 for adults, $3 for children ages six to 12, and free for children under five.
Following the supper, there will be an auction of baked goods and items donated by local businesses and members of the community.
NAYLOR CHURCH HOSTING QUARTET CONCERT THIS WEEKEND Naylor First Christian Church is hosting the Golden Road Quartet Concert this weekend.
The concert will begin at 6 pm on Saturday at the church on Jackson Street in Naylor.
Officials tell us that refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the concert.
