FOUR ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO ALLEGED BURGLARY IN POPLAR BLUFF Four arrests have been made in connection to an alleged burglary this past weekend in Poplar Bluff.

Captain Dave Sutton with the Poplar Bluff Police Department tells KWOC News that shots were fired during the incident.

“On Saturday, January 14th, at around 8 p.m. officers with the Poplar Bluff Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of Lexington Street in reference to shots fired during a residential burglary.

The victims told officers that the front door to the residence was kicked in and Larry Carter Sr., Larry Carter Jr., Sureeka Carter, Martrez Carter, and other identified suspects entered the residence. Martrez Carter flourished a handgun.

Larry Carter held the female victim down while the other suspects assaulted the male victim. After the assault the suspects left the residence in three vehicles. Two gunshots were fired from the suspect vehicles as they left the area.

Larry Carter Sr., Larry Carter Jr., Sureeka Carter, and Martrez Carter were located at a residence in the 1500 Block of North 5th Street. They were taken into custody without incident and transported to the police station.

Larry Carter Sr., Larry Carter Jr., and Sureeka Carter were each booked in on a charge of burglary first-degree. Martrez Carter was booked in on charges of burglary 1st degree, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon”

  ENDANGERED PERSON ADVISORY ISSUED FOR MISSING SCOTT CITY TEENAGER The Scott City Police Department has issued an Endangered Person Advisory for a missing teenager.

The advisory is for 15 year old Abigail Norville.

Norville reportedly left her residence after an argument with her father and the last communication with her was by text message at 2 pm on Monday.

Norville is described as a white female, five feet tall and weighing 125 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was wearing a black jacket with blue jeans.

Authorities believe Norville may be in the company of 21 year old James Scheller. Scheller is described as a white male, 5 foot 9 inches tall, weighing 195 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Norville or Scheller’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Scott City Police Department at 573-264-2121.

 

 

AREA MAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON FELONY METH CHARGE An area man was arrested Tuesday morning in Butler County on a methamphetamine charge.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 22 year old Justin Ard was taken into custody at around 10 am Tuesday on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Ard is also facing a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Following the arrest, he was transported to the Butler County Jail on a 24 hour hold.

 

 

PIEDMONT MAN FACING FELONY GUN AND FIREARM CHARGES A Piedmont man is facing multiple felony charges following his arrest Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 26 year old William McKinney was arrested in Wayne County on felony charges including possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm.

McKinney is also facing a charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

 

WAPPAPELLO MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE FORGERY WARRANTS Authorities in Stoddard County have taken a Wappapello man into custody on multiple forgery warrants.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 46 year old William Thomas Pearce III was recently arrested on four warrants for forgery and two warrants for probation violation.

Pearce’s bond was set at $35,000 cash only, and officials say he remained in jail as of this morning.

 

 

EROSION WORK TO BEGIN TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY Eastbound Route 60 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane for the rest of this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform erosion work.

The work zone is located between Route 25 and County Road 717.

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Friday from 7 am to 4 pm daily.
