POPLAR BLUFF MAN KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECKA Poplar Bluff man has died after his vehicle hit a tree Friday afternoon.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 46 year old Timothy Anderson was driving on County Road 465 when his vehicle ran off the side of the road, struck an embankment, and a tree.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene by Butler County Assistant Coroner Brian Fugate.

 

TWO POPLAR BLUFF RESIDENTS ARRESTED ON METH CHARGES SUNDAY MORNING Two Poplar Bluff residents were arrested Sunday morning in Butler County on methamphetamine charges.

According to authorities, 44 year old Marshall Lyons and 35 year old Paulette Pickard were each arrested at around 9:30 am Sunday on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Lyons is also facing a felony charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

 

DEXTER MAN ARRESTED ON STATUTORY RAPE WARRANT A Dexter man is in custody following his arrest on a statutory rape warrant.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 40 year old David Madsen was recently arrested on a warrant for 1st degree statutory rape.

Madsen reportedly has a prior conviction for a sex offense. Officials say that no bond has been set.

 

THREE ARRESTED SATURDAY MORNING IN BUTLER COUNTY ON CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE CHARGES Three people were taken into custody Saturday in Butler County on controlled substance charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 39 year old Matthew Poole, 30 year old Nicholas Ursery, and 23 year old Jessica Hemphill, all of Poplar Bluff, were each arrested Saturday morning on charges of possession of a controlled substance – meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officials did not say if the arrests were connected to each other. All three were held at the Butler County Jail.

 

METHAMPHETAMINE, MARIJUANA, AND MUSHROOMS SEIZED DURING SEARCH IN PARAGOULD One man is in custody in connection to the execution of a search warrant last week in Paragould.

Officials with the Paragould Police Department tell KWOC News that on Friday, Street Crimes Unit investigators served a search warrant at the home of Johnathan Slayton.

During the execution of the warrant, officers seized over 300 grams of marijuana, over 180 grams of processed and packaged “shrooms” as well as an actual manufacturing grow operation of psilocybin mushrooms in excess of 200 grams.

One quarter gram of methamphetamine and over two grams of hydrocodone were also seized.

Authorities say that Slayton faces three counts of delivery of controlled substance, manufacturing a schedule one controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to deliver a schedule one controlled substance, and possession with intent to deliver a schedule six controlled substance.

 

POPLAR BLUFF MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON FELONY METH AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA CHARGES A Poplar Bluff man is facing felony meth and paraphernalia charges following his arrest Saturday night.

According to the Highway Patrol, 57 year old Thomas Hall was taken into custody at around 10:35 pm Saturday on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following the arrest, Hall was held at the Butler County Jail.

 

DRAINAGE REPAIRS TO BE PERFORMED THIS WEEK IN DUNKLIN COUNTY Route 412 in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane this week so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform drainage repairs.

The section of roadway to be reduced is located between Route P and County Road 542.

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm daily.
