ANOTHER ARREST MADE IN CONNECTION TO ASSAULT IN WAYNE COUNTYA woman who was being sought in connection to an assault last month in Wayne County has been arrested.
Officials with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that Tabitha Gallaher has been apprehended and is in custody.
Gallaher was wanted in connection to a violent crime involving an elderly man in early February. Three other people have been charged in connection to the incident.
MAN FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES AFTER ALLEGEDLY RUNNING OVER BUSINESS OWNER A man is facing multiple charges in connection to an incident on Saturday.
According to Missouri Case Net, 68 year old Joseph Hunter, of New Madrid, has been charged with 1st degree assault, endangering a corrections employee by knowing causing the person to come in contact with bodily fluid, stealing, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a physical injury.
According to authorities, Hunter, allegedly ran over a business owner as he was driving away from a restaurant after not paying a bill.
He was later taken into custody. While in custody he also allegedly used a bloody towel to slap an officer.
THREE ON THREE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD FOR PBHS STUDENT ROTARY CLUB The Interact Club, the Poplar Bluff High School student Rotary Club, will be hosting a three-on-three basketball tournament next month.
The tournament has been scheduled for 1 pm on Saturday, April 1st, in the gymnasium.
The cost is $75 per team, with all proceeds going toward a summer field trip for the club to tour Civil Rights landmarks.
Teams can consist of up to four members and participants must be 14 years of age or older. First place players will receive Beats headphones.

TENNESSEE MAN ARRESTED ON FELONY DRUG CHARGE IN CARTER COUNTY A Tennessee man was taken into custody Tuesday morning in Southeast Missouri on a felony drug charge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 43 year old Randy May, of Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested in Carter County on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
May is also facing charges of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, failure to drive on right half of roadway, and driving while suspended.
Following the arrest, May was transported to the Carter County Jail.
METH ARREST MADE IN NEW MADRID COUNTY Authorities in New Madrid County have arrested a Caruthersville woman on a controlled substance charge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 30 year old Misty Gibson was taken into custody Monday night on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Following the arrest, Gibson was held at the New Madrid County Jail.
NEW MADRID COUNTY ROAD BEING REDUCED FOR SHOULDER REPAIRS Route 153 in New Madrid County is being reduced to one lane through the end of this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform shoulder repairs.
The section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route 162 to Route J.
Weather permitting, work will continue through Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm each day.
