GOVERNOR ERIC GREITENS TO SPEAK IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI THIS WEEKENDMissouri Governor Eric Greitens will be speaking in Southeast Missouri this weekend.
Greitens will be speaking at the location of the old Noranda facility in New Madrid on Saturday beginning at 9:30 am. Butler County Republican Central Committee Chairman Eddy Justice says that Greitens will also be speaking at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff at 12:30 pm on Saturday.
The topic will be the special session of the Missouri Legislature he called yesterday to discuss the steel mill bill, which had stalled when the legislative session ended.
The proposal would allow the state Public Service Commission to approve special electric rates for aluminum smelting and steel-works facilities, which require a lot of electricity.
Some senators expressed concerns about creating special exemptions for particular companies.
STEELE MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON MULTIPLE COUNTS OF CHILD MOLESTATION A Steele man is facing multiple charges following his arrest Thursday evening in Pemiscot County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 41 year old Darryl Herron was arrested on four counts of 1st degree child molestation, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, and ten counts of possession of child pornography videos.
Following the arrest, Herron was held at the Pemiscot County Jail.

Weather officials say that multiple rounds of thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall are expected for this weekend.
A few strong storms will be possible throughout the period, but the greater concern will be heavy rainfall and possible flash flooding.

WOMAN FLOWN TO AREA HOSPITAL FOLLOWING WRECK IN WAYNE COUNTY A woman was flown to an area hospital yesterday following a wreck in Wayne County.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the wreck occurred at around 2 am Thursday morning near Lodi.
53 year old Lindwood Mitchell, of Greenville, reportedly hit a tree after he ran off the side of County Road 212, overcorrected, and lost control.
A passenger in the vehicle, 29 year old Lyndsay Mitchell, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Air Evac to St. Francis Hospital.
VEHICLE SEARCH LEADS TO METH ARREST IN GREENE COUNTY A woman has been taken into custody after drugs was allegedly found in her vehicle earlier this week.
Greene County Sheriff David Carter tells KWOC News that Crystal Tedder was arrested Wednesday night after a deputy discovered the meth during a search of her vehicle.
Carter says Tedder was arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine.
KENNETT SOFTBALL TEAM TO PLAY IN STATE SEMIFINAL TODAY The Kennett High School Softball team will be playing in the State Semi-finals today in Springfield.
Kennett, who have a 21 and three record for the season, will be taking on Strafford High School beginning at 5 pm. Strafford is 23 and 1.
The winner will advance to the State Championship game on Saturday against the winner of the second semi-final between Purdy and Lincoln high schools. The final will begin at 1 pm Saturday at Killian Sports Complex in Springfield.
