TWO ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES IN CARTER COUNTYTwo Arkansas residents were arrested Tuesday afternoon in Carter County on drug charges.
According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, 35 year old Amy Bryant and Vickie Tripp were taken into custody on a felony charge of possession of marijuana.
Both Bryant and Tripp are also facing a misdemeanor charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Carter County Jail and later released.
MODOT SAYS PUBLIC HEARING COULD BE HELD FOR UPCOMING BRIDGE PROJECTS IN STODDARD COUNTY The Missouri Department of Transportation says that area residents have the opportunity to look over plans for an upcoming bridge project in Stoddard County.
Officials say the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission is planning to replace three bridges located on Routes P, K and N.
The Route P project includes replacing the bridge over Drainage Ditch Number 34. The Route K project is the replacement of the bridge over Wolf Creek. The Route N project includes replacing the bridge over Drainage Ditch Number 30.
Construction could begin as early as summer 2018. As construction is underway, Routes P, K and N will be closed to through traffic in the vicinity of the bridges.
Maps, plans, and other information prepared by MoDot will be available for public inspection at the MoDot Sikeston District Office. Anybody affected by the project may request that a public hearing be held in regard to the proposed improvements.

MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED FOLLOWING WRECK IN WAYNE COUNTY A man was taken to an area hospital following a wreck in Wayne County.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the wreck occurred at around 2 pm Tuesday afternoon on Route T, east of County Road 517.
76 year old Gayle Arnold, of Wappapello, reportedly ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned.
Arnold suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to a Poplar Bluff hospital.
ST. LOUIS MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES A St. Louis man is facing multiple felony charges following his arrest Tuesday afternoon.
According to authorities, 49 year old Frederick Langevin was taken into custody in Carter County on felony charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Langevin also reportedly had two misdemeanor warrants out of Carter County.
SPENCE AND SIDDIQUI CHOSEN AS POPLAR BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES OF THE MONTH A tennis and tracker player have been chosen as the Poplar Bluff High School athletes of the month for May.
Sophomore Khelie Spence and Sophomore Humza Siddiqui were chosen for the awards by the Mules Booster Club.
Spence is the first female at Poplar Bluff High School to make All-State at the Missouri Class 5 track and field meet. She made All-Conference in the 100 and 300 hurdle, she was also All-District in the 100 and 300 hurdle, and was named the Class 5 Sectional 1 100 hurdle champion. In the classroom, she maintains an 11.143 GPA.
Siddiqui led the Mules Tennis team to its second district championship title. He ended the season with a doubles record of 11-2 and a singles record of 18-3, bringing his career total to 56-17, a school record. He won the Poplar Bluff Invitational, and was a finalist at the Farmington Invitational. In the classroom, he maintains an 11.79 GPA.
