MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG AND FLEEING WARRANT IN STODDARD COUNTYA Springfield man has been taken into custody in Stoddard County on a drug and fleeing warrant.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 24 year old Corey Counts was recently arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest by fleeing.
Counts’ bond has been set at $7,500, cash only, and officials say he was still in jail as of this morning.
PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT TO BEGIN TODAY IN BUTLER COUNTY Southbound Route 67 in Butler County will be reduced to one lane this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route C to Route 160.
Weather permitting, work will take place today through Thursday, from 7 am to 5 pm daily.
90TH STODDARD COUNTY FAIR BEGINS TODAY The 90th Stoddard County Fair is scheduled to begin today.
The fair will kick-off with the parade in downtown Dexter this evening at 5:30 pm. Youth games will also be held tonight, directly after the parade.
The entertainment scheduled for 7 pm tonight on the Main Stage is The Well Hungarians.

TWO SERIOUSLY INJURED IN WRECK INVOLVING FREIGHTLINER ON INTERSTATE 55 Two people were seriously injured Monday in a wreck on Interstate 55.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a freightliner struck a vehicle on the Interstate at around noon and both vehicles overturned.
The driver of the freightliner, 59 year old Edward Barker, of Wyatt, and the driver of the second vehicle, 47 year old Vicki Charles, of Riverton, Illinois, were both seriously injured in the wreck. A 10 year old passenger in the second vehicle suffered minor injuries.
All three were taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
STODDARD COUNTY ROAD TO BE REDUCED TODAY FOR REPAIRS Route V in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform pavement repairs.
MoDOT officials tell KWOC News that Route V will be reduced from 7 am to 4:30 pm.
The work zone will be located between Route K and Route C.
DATE SET FOR FAFSA FRENZY AT THREE RIVERS COLLEGE The date has been set for the next FAFSA Frenzy event at Three Rivers College.
The event will be held on Thursday, October 19th from 4 to 6 pm.
This event gives students and their families the ability to have professional assistance in filling out the 2018 – 2019 FAFSA, which a form required for federal financial aid. All students and parents are welcome to attend.
There will also be an opportunity for students to enter their name into a drawing for a scholarship to be used in Fall 2018.
