RIVER RADIO LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE SET FOR THIS FRIDAY  

Parade lights will be shining bright in Downtown Poplar Bluff this Friday for the 2017 River Radio Lighted Christmas Parade.

Lineup will begin at 5:45 pm on Friday on Cheshire Boulevard at the Water Park. The parade route will run through downtown Poplar Bluff before looping back and ending at the Black River Coliseum.

The parade will begin at 6:30 pm.

 

POPLAR BLUFF LEAF PICK UP SCHEDULE TO CONTINUE TODAY

 

The leaf pick up schedule for the city of Poplar Bluff is set to continue today.

According to city officials, the leaf pick up will be in Ward 2 from today to December 8th. It will move to other city wards in the following weeks.

Leaves may also be disposed of at the landfill located on the east side of the city. To reach the landfill, take Bartlett Street to “F” Street and go under the railroad crossing. Follow the graveled portion of “F” Street around the curve and the disposal is located on the left side of the road. There are signs marking the location.

The site is open for leaf disposal from 8 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.

TREE TRIMMING CREWS TO BE IN STODDARD COUNTY TODAY

 

Route J in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can trim trees along the roadway.

The work zone will be located from Route AA to Route F.

The road will be reduced today from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

 

KENNETT MAN ARRESTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY ON CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE CHARGE

 

Authorities in Dunklin County have taken a Kennett man into custody on a felony charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 34 year old Jamison Taylor was arrested early Sunday morning on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following the arrest, Taylor was held at the Dunklin County Jail.

 

INTERSTATE REPAIR PROJECT SET TO BEGIN TODAY

 

Southbound I-55 in New Madrid County will be reduced with a 16-foot width restriction today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

Officials say the section of roadway involved in the project is located between mile markers 57 and 54.

Weather permitting, work will take place today and from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm daily.

 

THREE RIVERS COLLEGE MUSIC DEPARTMENT TO PUT ON FESTIVE PERFORMANCE TUESDAY NIGHT

 

The Three Rivers College Music Department will be continuing its season tomorrow night with a festive-themed performance.

‘Holiday Dreaming’ will begin at 7 pm Tuesday night at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.

The free performance will feature the Three Rivers Symphonic Band, the Swingsations, and the Three Rivers College Choir.

Cindy White, Professor of Music at Three Rivers College says that there will be some really talented young musicians at the event that will be performing a great blend of festive pieces.

 

NAYLOR CHURCH TO HOST MOVIE NIGHT THIS FRIDAY

 

A church in Naylor will be hosting a movie night this Friday.

The Fourth Wiseman will be shown on Friday at the Naylor First Christian Church Fellowship Hall beginning at 6 pm.

The event is free to the community and all ages are welcome. Officials say that refreshments will be served as well.
