ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RELEASED ABOUT MURDER ARREST IN STODDARD COUNTY
Updating a story we brought to you yesterday, additional information has been released about an arrest on a murder warrant in Stoddard County.
Officials with the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 35 year old Justen Lee Patterson was arrested on a warrant for murder 2nd degree.
The charge is in connection to the stabbing death of an 18 year old man in September of 2004.
According to Missouri Case Net, Patterson’s arraignment has been scheduled for Thursday morning.
MULTIPLE AREA COMMUNITIES ISSUE BURN BANS OR ADVISORIES
Dry conditions in Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas have caused multiple area communities to issue burn bans.
Ripley County in Southeast Missouri along with Clay and Greene Counties in Northeast Arkansas have issued bans. The city of Bloomfield Department of Public Safety is also asking area residents to not burn outside.
A field fire also broke out Tuesday near Paragould and spread to multiple homes.
MALDEN MAN IN CUSTODY ON CHILD MOLESTATION WARRANT
A Malden man was in custody this morning on a child molestation warrant.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 24 year old McKinley Lane has been arrested on a warrant for 1st degree child molestation.
Officials say that no bond was set and Lane remained in jail as of this morning. His arraignment has been scheduled for Thursday morning at 9 am.
BERNIE CHILD SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK
A child was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a single vehicle wreck near Bernie.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 27 year old Ofelia Solano, of Bernie, was driving on Missouri Highway 25, when her vehicle ran off the side of the road and overturned.
Solano received moderate injuries in the wreck, while a nine year old child in the vehicle suffered serious injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST FOR CRYSTAL METHAMPHETAMINE
A Monday night traffic stop resulted in a crystal methamphetamine arrest in Northeast Arkansas.
Greene County Sheriff David Carter tells KWOC News that Adam McDaniel was taken into custody after a K-9 officer alerted positive during the stop and 14.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine was located in the vehicle.
McDaniel was arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine with purpose to deliver.
DATE SET FOR PUBLIC MEETING AT JAY NIXON STATE PARK
A date has been set for an upcoming public meeting about the future of Jay Nixon State Park in Reynolds and Iron counties.
The meeting has been scheduled for 6 to 8 pm on Thursday December 7th at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park in Lesterville.
Representatives from Missouri State Parks will be present at the meeting to provide information about various aspects of the property and to receive input from the public about its future.
Missouri State Parks has also extended the public comment period on the future of the park property through January 5th.
Beginning December 4th, people will be able to submit comments about the park through an online survey they can accessed on the Missouri State Parks website at MoStateParks.com.
NEW MADRID COUNTY ROAD TO BE REDUCED TODAY
Route 62 in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform pavement repairs.
The section of roadway to be reduced is located between County Roads 335 and 331.
Work is scheduled to take place today 7 am to 3:30 pm.
