POPLAR BLUFF POLICE SEARCHING FOR ARMED AND DANGEROUS MAN

Authorities in Poplar Bluff are searching for a man who they say is being considered armed and dangerous.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, they are looking for Rashad Lee Marshall, who is a suspect in a shooting incident that occurred over the weekend.

Officials say that Marshall also has numerous outstanding warrants.

Anyone with information on Marshall’s whereabouts is asked to call 573-785-5776 or contact your local law enforcement agency.

 

INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY FOLLOWING HOUSE EXPLOSION IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS

An investigation is underway following a house explosion in Northeast Arkansas.

According to the Greene County Office of Emergency Management, multiple agencies responded to the area near Industrial Avenue in Marmaduke following the explosion Monday evening.

The incident is under investigation and there has been no reports of anybody being injured.

 

AUTHORITIES IN STODDARD COUNTY ARREST BLOOMFIELD MAN ON ASSAULT AND WEAPON WARRANT

Authorities in Stoddard County say that an area man has been taken into custody on an assault and weapon warrant.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 36 year old Jonathan Charles Angel, of Bloomfield, was recently arrested on a warrant for one count of assault 4th degree, one count of resist or interfere with an arrest, and one count of felony unlawful use of a weapon.

Angel’s bond has been set at $50,000, cash only, and officials say he remained in jail as of this morning.

 

VAN BUREN MAN ARRESTED ON METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGE

A Van Buren man was taken into custody Monday afternoon on a felony meth charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 49 year old Walter Jackson was arrested Monday in Madison County on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Jackson is also reportedly facing a charge of driving while intoxicated – drugs.

 

BRIDGE REPAIR PROJECT SET TO RESUME TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY

Route 60 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane this morning so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform bridge maintenance.

According to MoDOT, the section of Route 60 to be reduced is located between County Road 593 and County Road 589.

Weather permitting, work will take place today from 6:30 am to 11 am.

 

CONTRACTS AWARDED FOR MULTIPLE BRIDGE PROJECTS IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI

State officials have awarded contracts for multiple upcoming bridge projects in Southeast Missouri.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, an over 5.7 million dollar contract was awarded for bridge improvements on Route 53 over the Saint Francis River on the county line between Butler and Dunklin Counties.

Contracts were also awarded for bridge replacements on Route B in Butler County, Route P in Stoddard County, and Route W in New Madrid County.

Additional information regarding timelines and impacts to traffic will be released prior to the start of construction.
