MAN LEADS OFFICERS ON PURSUIT THAT CROSSED FROM MISSOURI TO ARKANSAS

A man has been arrested following multiple pursuits over the weekend.

Officials with the Kennett Police Department tell KWOC News that they were alerted on Saturday that a vehicle had been stolen from Dexter. The vehicle was being driven by a suspect who was supposed to be en route to the Jonesboro area and was reportedly armed with a firearm.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle at which point the driver failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit ensued.

The vehicle continued west into Northeast Arkansas where it was later located abandoned on a levee system.

Officers were able to positively identify the driver as Christopher Kyle Davis. Later that evening, Arkansas authorities were able to identify and take the passenger, Zachary Ryan Ingram, into custody after he broke into a residence.

A few hours after Ingram was taken into custody, Davis reportedly stole another vehicle and led Arkansas State Police troopers on a pursuit during which he was taken into custody as well.

 

FOUR INJURED, TWO SERIOUSLY, IN STODDARD COUNTY WRECK

Four people were injured, two seriously, in a wreck on Christmas Eve in Stoddard County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 21 year old Adrian Collier, of Cape Girardeau, was driving on County Road 518, near Morehouse, when her vehicle ran off the side of the road and overturned.

Two passengers in the vehicle were seriously injured, while a third suffered moderate injuries. All three were taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital. Collier received minor injuries and was transported to a Sikeston hospital.

 

MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING PURSUIT IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS

Authorities in Northeast Arkansas say a man has been taken into custody after fleeing from a deputy.

Greene County Sheriff David Carter tells KWOC News that Brandon Weyland was arrested last week after he crashed his vehicle while fleeing from a deputy.

Carter says Weyland was arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, fleeing, and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

 

SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS LEAD TO POSSIBLE SLICK ROADWAYS THIS MORNING

Motorists are being warned to watch for slick roadways this morning.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered snow showers overnight could result in some scattered slick spots on area roadways this morning, but no large impacts are expected.

A hazardous weather outlook for the region also says that the weather service expects a prolonged period of colder than normal temperatures for the rest of the week. Temperatures could reach around 15 degrees tonight and tomorrow night.

 

2.5 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE RECORDED NEAR BERNIE

Did you feel the earthquake that occurred over the weekend in Southeast Missouri?

According to the United States Geological Survey, the 2.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 3:26 pm Saturday afternoon.

The earthquake was located around two miles south southwest of Bernie and had a depth of less than five miles.

 

BUTLER COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY FOR BRIDGE MAINTENANCE

A Butler County road will be closed through mid January for bridge maintenance.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route B will be closed 24 hours a day between County Road 565 and Route Z beginning today.

Officials say the road will be closed until Tuesday, January 16th.
