ONE DEAD FOLLOWING WRECK IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS

A woman has died in connection to a weekend wreck in Northeast Arkansas.

Officials with the Arkansas State Police tell KWOC News that 38 year old April Geurin, of Strawberry, Arkansas, was driving on State Highway 25 in Lawrence County, when her vehicle travelled off the side of the roadway and struck a ditch and trees.

Officials say that Geurin was killed in the wreck, which occurred shortly after 8 am Saturday morning, around a mile south of Lynn.

 

NEELYVILLE WOMAN FACING MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES OUT OF BUTLER COUNTY

A Neelyville woman was taken into custody over the weekend on multiple felony charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 47 year old Mary Moore was arrested Saturday afternoon on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance in a county jail.

Moore is also reportedly facing a charge of felony endangering the welfare of a child 1st degree.

 

PEMISCOT COUNTY ROAD REDUCED THIS WEEK FOR SHOULDER REPAIRS

Route A in Pemiscot County will be reduced to one lane this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform shoulder repairs.

Officials say that the section of roadway to be reduced is located from I-55 to Route B.

Weather permitting; work will take place today through Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm, daily.

 

BENTON MAN FACING MURDER CHARGE

Updating a story we brought to you last week, a Benton man is facing a murder charge in connection to the death of a man in Scott County.

On Thursday evening the Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address outside of Benton in reference to an assault. At the scene, 27 year old James Joyce II was found dead. Joyce appeared to have died from a stab wound.

33 year old Gary Venable, of Benton, was taken into custody and is facing charges of 2nd degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action.

 

MAN ARRESTED FOR HEROIN IN IRON COUNTY

A man is facing a heroin charge following his arrest on Friday.

According to authorities, 37 year old Peter Arnold, of Annapolis, was arrested shortly before midnight Friday night on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – heroin.

Arnold was also arrested on charges of possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana and driving while revoked.

Following the arrest, he was transported to the Iron County Jail.

 

LILBOURN MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY WRECK

A Lilbourn man suffered serious injuries in a two vehicle wreck on Friday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by 59 year old Larry McIntosh, was struck in the rear by another vehicle on US Highway 61.

The wreck occurred Friday afternoon, around two miles north of New Madrid.

McIntosh was seriously injured in the wreck and taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital.

 

ALMOST TWO WEEK LONG BRIDGE REPAIR PROJECT TO BEGIN TODAY ON INTERSTATE 55

An almost two week long bridge repair project will cause various lane closures on both north and southbound Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County beginning today.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the repairs will be located between Mile Markers 19 and 27.

Weather permitting; work will take place from 6 am to 6 pm daily through Saturday, February 10th.
