MAN RESCUED AFTER FALLING OFF OF CHIMNEY IN BUTLER COUNTYAn 82 year old Broseley man was rescued from his roof Wednesday afternoon after he reportedly fell of his chimney.

Chief Deputy Brian Evans with Butler County Sheriff’s Department tells KWOC News that at approximately 4 pm yesterday, the Butler County Fire Department received a call from Butler County EMS in reference to a male subject who had fallen off his chimney and was stuck on his roof.

The Fire Department, Sheriff's Department, and EMS responded to the home and rescued the man from the roof. The subject, Junior Hutson, was taken to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

GREENVILLE MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON FIREARM CHARGE Authorities say a Greenville man was arrested Wednesday evening on a firearm charge.

Officials with the Highway Patrol tell us that 49 year old Stanley Chubb was taken into custody in Wayne County at around 5 pm Wednesday.

Chubb is facing a felony charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

COUNTY LEVEL SURVEY TO BEGIN THIS MONTH Officials with the Butler County Health Department say that area residents could soon be getting a phone call as a part of a statewide survey.

Beverley Hargrove with the health department says approximately 52,000 Missouri adults will be randomly called to participate in the 2016 Missouri County-level Study.

The study will produce county prevalence estimates of chronic diseases and conditions, risk factors, preventive practices, and access to health care among adults ages 18 and older.

Hargrove says that this is a legitimate survey and anyone contacted is encouraged to participate.

ONE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOLLOWING TWO STATE PURSUIT One person was taken into custody Tuesday following a pursuit that began in Northeast Arkansas and ended in Butler County.

Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs tells us that deputies from Clay County pursued a vehicle into Butler County. The vehicle ended up travelling into a ditch near County Roads 223 and 224. The deputies detained a suspect at the scene, who was identified as Jason Lutes.

The deputies told Butler County officials that they believed the suspect was stealing batteries. The deputies also handed over an evidence bag that contained a syringe and corner bag. Lutes reportedly told a Butler County deputy that the syringe and corner bag will both test positive for meth.

A probable cause statement has two offenses listed for Lutes, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

WAPPAPELLO MAN FACING MULTIPLE DRUG RELATED CHARGES A Wappapello man is facing multiple drug related charges following his arrest Wednesday morning in Wayne County.

According to the Highway Patrol, 27 year old Seth Parker was taken into custody on charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following his arrest, Parker was held in the Wayne County Jail.

APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE TOMORROW FOR SPRING MANAGED TURKEY HUNTS The Missouri Department of Conservation will be accepting applications for the 2016 Spring Turkey Managed Hunts beginning on Thursday.

Missouri youth, archery, and firearms turkey hunters can apply online for the hunt through February 29th at mdc.mo.gov. Drawing results will then be made available on March 14th.

Officials say that the spring turkey hunting youth weekend has been scheduled for April 9th and 10th with the regular spring season running from April 18th to May 8th.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE ARE SEARCHING FOR TWO PEOPLE IN CONNECTION TO SEPARATE INVESTIGATIONS Authorities in Poplar Bluff are searching for two people in connection to separate recent investigations.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, the first investigation pertains to a white male who concealed two bottles of liquor on his person and left an area store without paying for them.

Police are also searching for a white female in reference to a forgery investigation.
