TWO ARRESTED ON FELONY DRUG CHARGE IN WAYNE COUNTYTwo people are facing a felony drug charge following their arrest Thursday in Wayne County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 20 year old Zachariah Peppers, of Piedmont, and 19 year old Cody Lawson, of Mill Spring, were both taken into custody at around 7 pm on a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute for marijuana.

Both men are also facing a charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

 

POPLAR BLUFF TEEN ARRESTED ON BURGLARY CHARGE A Poplar Bluff teen is facing a burglary and drug charge following an incident Wednesday night at an area business.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, officers responded Wednesday night to a report of a burglary at a business on South Broadway. Someone had allegedly kicked in the front door and entered but then fled when the owner stopped by the business.

An Officer later arrested 19 year old Ethan Griffith in connection to the burglary. At the time of his arrest, an officer found Griffith in possession of a pill bottle with 103 green pills.

Griffith is charged with 2nd degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance.

 

TREE TRIMMING TO CAUSE DELAYS OVER THE NEXT WEEK IN STODDARD COUNTY Route M in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane over the next week so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can trim trees along the roadway.

The work zone is located from Route 25 to Route PP.

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Friday, January 15th from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

 

SECOND SUSPECT SOUGHT IN CONNECTION TO SIKESTON SHOOTING Authorities in Sikeston are searching for a second suspect in connection to a shooting that occurred last month.

Police are searching for 22 year old Dominic Reynolds, of Sikeston on charges including 1st degree assault, armed criminal action, and attempted robbery.

The investigation is concerning the shooting of a 16 year old boy on December 19th.

The teen told police he was shot in the street in front of a house after being confronted by two unknown subjects. The teen said the two men were wearing masks and were trying to rob him. He resisted and was shot in the stomach by one of the men.

The teen was flown to a St. Louis hospital in critical condition.

Another suspect in the case, 18 year old Dylan James Ray Noble, of Sikeston, was taken into custody last month.

 

CENTER STAGE TO PERFORM “TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE” NEXT WEEK AT TINNIN FINE ARTS CENTER The Tinnin Fine Arts Center will be the home for multiple performances of the stage version of the bestselling book “Tuesdays with Morrie.”

The show will feature Tinnin Center Director Tim Thompson and local theatre veteran Mike Malone.

Performances have been scheduled for January 14th through the 16th at 7 pm each night. A final matinee performance will be held on January 17th at 2 pm.

Tickets can be purchased for $10 or $5 with a TRC ID.

 

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FREE THROW CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE HELD ON JANUARY 17TH The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship has been scheduled for January 17th at the Sacred Heart Gym.

The contest is for Boys and Girls ages 10 to 14. Sign in will begin at 1:30 pm with the competition starting at 2 pm.
