INMATE ESCAPES FROM SCOTT COUNTY JAIL A search is underway in the Scott County area after an inmate escaped Thursday afternoon from the Scott County Jail.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter tells us that 31 year old Joshua Musgroves escaped from custody at about 3:30 PM while he was being returned from a court appearance.

Musgroves, who is considered dangerous, was being held in the Scott County Jail on charges of assault in the first degree and unlawful use of a weapon.

Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

  MAN KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS One man has died following a single vehicle wreck Thursday night in Northeast Arkansas.

According to the Arkansas State Police, 22 year old Keeven Pankey, of Reyno, was driving east on Highway 328 in Randolph County when his vehicle ran off the side of the road, struck a ditch, and overturned.

Pankey was ejected during the wreck and later pronounced dead at the scene.

  DRIVER PASSES OUT WHILE SMOKING SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA Two people were arrested Wednesday in Kennett on Synthetic Marijuana charges.

Shortly after 2 pm Wednesday, officers observed a vehicle swerving on Route VV and then a passenger jumping out of the vehicle while it was still moving.

When the vehicle came to a stop, officers learned that the driver had passed out after smoking synthetic marijuana while driving. Officers searched the vehicle and found an undisclosed amount of synthetic marijuana.

31 year old Meagan Crow, of Kennett, was arrested for driving while intoxicated-drugs and for possession of synthetic marijuana.

Later that day, officers with the Kennett Police Department arrested 26 year old Damon Armstrong, also of Kennett. Armstrong was arrested on several counts of distribution of synthetic marijuana on housing authority property and distribution of synthetic marijuana near a public school or park.

Police officials did not say if the two arrests were connected to each other.

  FRIDAY AT THE BUTLER COUNTY FAIR The BBQ Contest is one of the headline events for tonight at the Butler County Fair.

The Fair has been set up at Ray Clinton Park in Poplar Bluff. A flag retirement ceremony is also scheduled for tonight as well as the open rodeo, and the continuation of the fried pie eating contest, the carnival, and the Butler County’s Got Talent show.

  7TH ANNUAL IRON HORSE FESTIVAL SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND Downtown Poplar Bluff will be the location for the 7th Annual Iron Horse Festival on Saturday.

The festival will kick off at 6 am with a pancake breakfast at the Historic Train Depot. The Iron Horse Festival Run will also be held in the morning beginning at First United Methodist Church.

Other events scheduled throughout the day include the Veteran Ceremony, the Iron Horse Car Show, the Dog Show, and the Kid Zone.

  25TH QULIN HOMECOMING TO BE HELD THIS WEEKEND The 25th Qulin Homecoming has been scheduled for Saturday.

Homecoming will begin with the opening ceremony at 9:30 am. Up next will be the Kid's Parade, followed by the Homecoming Parade.

Officials say that a cake auction will also be held during homecoming, with proceeds going to the Qulin Cemetery.
