THREE TEENAGERS KILLED IN BUTLER COUNTY WRECK OVER THE WEEKENDThree Poplar Bluff teenagers have died following a single vehicle wreck in Butler County.
Butler County Coroner Andy Moore tells KWOC News that the wreck occurred Saturday evening at around 10 pm on Route W, 1 mile north of Poplar Bluff.
A vehicle driven by 16 year old Linda Shultz ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Shultz, along with two other passengers were killed in the wreck. The passengers were identified as 14 year old Cody Logan and 16 year old Camille McCain.
A third passenger in the vehicle was injured in the wreck and flown to a Memphis hospital.
HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK IN DONIPHAN A Hunter Education Course has been scheduled for this week in Doniphan.
The course will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday, October 20th, at the Doniphan Masonic Lodge.
Attendees must have completed the knowledge portion of the testing prior to the class. Hunter education books containing the knowledge questions are available at the US Forest Service office.
OVER THREE MONTH LONG BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO BEGIN TODAY IN BUTLER COUNTY Route 158 in Butler County will be closed for over three months so contractor crews can perform a bridge replacement.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the bridge involved is located between Route BB and County Road 321.
Weather permitting, work will begin today and the bridge is scheduled to re-open on Saturday, January 27th, 2018.
BROSELEY HOMECOMING SET FOR THIS WEEKEND The annual Broseley Homecoming has been set for this Saturday at the Broseley Senior Center.
The Homecoming parade will begin at 10 am. Other events scheduled include breakfast at 7 am and the Miss Broseley Beauty Pageant at 2 pm. There will also be multiple vendors and live music.

POPLAR BLUFF MAN FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES FOLLOWING WEEKEND ARREST IN BUTLER COUNTY Authorities in Butler County have arrested a Poplar Bluff man on a felony drug charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 40 year old Richard Simmers was taken into custody Friday evening on a felony charge of possession of marijuana.
Simmers was also arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and several Ripley County failure to appear warrants.
Following the arrest, Simmers was held at the Butler County Jail.
THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR THE 15TH ANNUAL CHILD ABUSE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CONFERENCE IS THIS WEEK The deadline to register for the 15th Annual Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Conference is this week.
According to the Butler County Community Resource Council, the event will be held from 8:30 am to 2 pm on Tuesday, October 31st at First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff.
Admission is free and lunch will be provided. The deadline to register is October 20th and seating will be limited to the first 100 that register.

ZALMA FISH FRY SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND A fundraiser for Zalma Fire and rescue has been scheduled for this weekend.
The fish fry is scheduled for 5 to 9 pm this Saturday at the Zalma Fire Station. An adult plate is $6 and the meal includes two pieces of fish, slaw, hush puppies, and a drink.
The cost for children 12 and under is $4.50.
The Zalma Fire Station is located at 499 Main Street in Zalma.
POPLAR BLUFF POM SQUAD TO HOST THEIR THIRD ANNUAL PRINCESS FOR A DAY FUNDRAISER The Poplar Bluff Pom Squad has announced they will be hosting their third annual Princess for a Day fundraising event on Saturday, October 28th.
The event is available for all girls ages 12 and under. Tickets are $25 and include a princess tiara, hair styling, make-up, and more. It will be held at the Poplar Bluff Kindergarten Center and Gymnasium.
Pre-registration will be held on tonight from 5 to 7 pm at the Poplar Bluff High School football field entrance.
