POPLAR BLUFF MIDDLE SCHOOL ROLLING OUT NEW PROGRAM THIS WEEK FOR DISMISSALS
The Poplar Bluff Middle School is rolling out a new program for school dismissal time this week.
According to a post on the Poplar Bluff Middle School Facebook page, the program, KidAccount will help keep kids safe and get them inside and off the sidewalk during parent pick up.
In the post, Middle School president Brad Owings says that parents will be issued a card with a bar code that will need to be scanned by a staff member before the child can be picked up.
The student’s name will then appear on a screen inside the school’s holding room so students can then head out to the pick up area. You will need your KidAccount card as well as an ID to pick up a student.
Families will be issued two cards per student and more can be purchased as needed. Anyone picking up a student without a card must go to the office, show a photo ID, and be on the approved pick up list for that student.
Parents will need to report any changes to their child’s afternoon pick up by 2 pm and parents must call the office or send a note. If a child is going home with a friend, the school will need a bus number or address.
