CHARGES AMENDED FOR MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING JULY SHOOTING IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
Charges have been amended for a man who was arrested following a shooting earlier this year in Dunklin County.
According to authorities, 19 year old Andre Oliver, of Kennett, was arrested in July in connection to the shooting death of 19 year old Akeem Nelson, also of Kennett.
At the time, Oliver was arrested on a charge of 2nd degree murder.
According to Missouri Case Net, an amended affidavit was filed Monday which amended the count to the class A felony of murder in the 1st degree.
WOMAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WARRANT
A woman has been taken into custody in Stoddard County on a controlled substance warrant.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 34 year old Erin Nicole Higgins was recently arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and stealing.
Officials say that Higgins bond was set at $7,500 and she remained in jail as of this morning.
CENTER STAGE TO OPEN UP NEW SEASON TOMORROW NIGHT
Center Stage, a Three Rivers College and community theater group, will be opening up their new season tomorrow night at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.
The group will be performing “Once Upon a Mattress,” a comedic retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Princess and the Pea.
Robert Abney, Director of the Tinnin Fine Arts Center, described the show as fun, whimsical, and good for the whole family.
Performances will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as well as 2 pm on Sunday. Tickets are $10, or $5 with a TRC ID.
POPLAR BLUFF CHURCH TO HOST FALL FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND
A Poplar Bluff church will be hosting a fall festival this weekend.
The 2017 Annual Fall Festival sponsored by the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church and Women’s Mission Ministry will be held from 7 am to 3 pm this Saturday at the Pleasant Hill Family Center.
There will be multiple food options at the festival including breakfast sandwiches, hamburgers, and homemade baked goods and vegetable soup.
The Pleasant Hill Family Center is located at 1116 Garfield Street.
FOUR TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON DRUG CHARGES IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
Multiple people were recently taken into custody in Northeast Arkansas on drug charges.
According to Greene County Sheriff David Carter, deputies recently arrested John Causey, Ronald Roush, and Wesley Childers for possession of crystal methamphetamine.
Carter says that deputies also arrested Phyllis Mullins for possession of a controlled substance. It was not released if the arrests were connected to each other.
PEMISCOT COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT
Route O in Pemiscot County will be closed today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can replace a pipe under the roadway.
Officials say that the section of roadway to be closed is located between County Roads 555 and 559.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
