SHOTS FIRED AT BUTLER COUNTY BUSINESSShots were reportedly fired in the parking lot of an area business earlier this week.
According to Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs, gunfire was exchanged between multiple people Tuesday evening in the parking lot of The Warp Zone on South Westwood Boulevard.
Dobbs says that no one was hit during the incident.
A man is being sought in connection to the incident, and anyone with additional information can contact the Butler County Sheriff’s Department at 573-785-8444.
POPLAR BLUFF POLICE SEARCHING FOR POSSIBLE SUSPECT FOLLOWING PROPERTY DAMAGE AT AREA CAR DEALERSHIP Authorities in Poplar Bluff are seeking the public’s help in identifying a possible suspect in connection to a property damage complaint at an area business.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, on July 21st, officers responded to Henderson Auto Sales, where the owner said an unknown suspect damaged vehicles in the lot. Police say the vehicles appeared to have been keyed.
After viewing surveillance video, a shirtless white male was identified as a possible suspect.

BLOOMFIELD MAN ARRESTED ON FEDERAL WARRANT IN STODDARD COUNTY A Bloomfield man has been taken into custody in Stoddard County on a federal warrant.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 32 year old Derekis Johnson was recently arrested on a federal warrant for selling amphetamine.
No bond was set and Johnson has been transported to Cape Girardeau County.
HEAT AND HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE FOR TODAY Weather officials say that Southeast Missouri could experience both high heat indexes and heavy rainfall today.
According to a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service, Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will move across the area this afternoon or evening.
A few severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts are possible and locally heavy rain is expected.
Weather officials say that heat indexes may get over 100 degrees this afternoon before the storms arrive.
VEHICLE STRIKES TREE, HOUSE, AND PEDESTRIAN IN BUTLER COUNTY A Poplar Bluff man has been flown to an area hospital following an incident Wednesday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 17 year old driver from Ellsinore ran off the side of Highway 142 and struck a tree, a house, and then a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, 57 year old Ricky Dooley, was flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries and was taken to a Poplar Bluff hospital.
BRIDGE MAINTENANCE PROJECT UNDERWAY IN PEMISCOT COUNTY Bridge maintenance is underway on southbound I-55 in Pemiscot County.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation work is set to continue from 6 am to 7 pm daily through Saturday, September 9th.
During the maintenance, Southbound I-55 will be reduced with a 14 foot width restriction between Route U and Route 164.
ANNUAL WAPPAPELLO LAKE DUCK BLIND DRAWING SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 19TH A date has been set for the annual duck blind drawing at Wappapello Lake.
According to the US Army Corps of Engineers, the drawing will be held at 1 pm on August 19th at the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitors Center. Anyone who wants to participate must be registered prior to 1 pm.
