NORTHEAST ARKANSAS MAN DEAD AFTER CRASHING INTO A POND

A man has died after crashing into a pond in Northeast Arkansas.

According to the Arkansas State Police, 83 year old Luther Baldwin, of Marmaduke, was driving on a Greene County road Monday night when his vehicle ran off the roadway and into a field.

Baldwin’s vehicle then struck a levee before coming to rest partially submerged in a pond.

ASP officials say that Baldwin was killed in the wreck.

 

BLOOMFIELD MAN ARRESTED ON WARRANT FOR FAILING TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER

Authorities in Stoddard County say a Bloomfield man was in custody this morning on a warrant.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 47 year old Gary Wrinkle Jr. was recently arrested on a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.

Wrinkle’s bond was set at $10,000 and officials say he remained in jail as of this morning.

 

THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINNERS IS ACCEPTING USED CHRISTMAS TREES

Once you are done with your Christmas tree this year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like to have it.

The Corps of Engineers will be accepting used Christmas trees from December 26th up until January 19th.

All you have to do is drop your undecorated tree off in the marked location at the Redman Creek Recreation Area boat ramp.

Officials say the trees will be used to aid in establishing a fish shelter and small game habitat.

TONIGHT IS THE FINAL NIGHT FOR SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS AT THE PALACE OF PRAISE

Tonight is the final night to see a Christmas themed show at a Poplar Bluff church.

The Palace of Praise is presenting the final 2017 performance of the Sounds of Christmas tonight at 7 pm.

Admission to the show is free and tickets for a dinner theater experience starting at 5 pm are also available for $12.

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI SHERIFF TEAMS UP WITH SKILLS USA TO DELIVER HOLIDAY MEALS

A Southeast Missouri sheriff teamed up with local members of a nationwide program to deliver holiday meals to area residents.

According to Ripley County Sheriff Mike Barton’s Facebook page, Barton and members of SkillsUSA delivered the meals to local organizations and families earlier this week.

Some drivers also got the opportunity to trade tickets for turkeys as a part of the event.

 

DRIVER EXAMINATION STATIONS TO BE CLOSED ON CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS

Driver examination stations across Missouri will be closed for a couple of days because of the holidays.

Captain John Hotz with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that driver examination stations will be closed on Monday, December 25th and Monday, January 1st for Christmas and New Year’s Day respectively.

Normal operations will resume on the Tuesday following each holiday.
